Communication Initially communication was delivered or conveyed physically and hand written hard copies where one could move kilometers and kilometers to deliver a message in our rural areas which made communication hard because it could take long for the message to be delivered but due to the trending technologies under ICT communication became easy where one can be able to send a message and it is delivered in minutes hence easing communication

Education The information technology enables data access from anywhere, this can uplift the level of education by using ICT to do research and awareness for many people especially in rural area, also it can help propagate instant messaging which also increases people awareness and ensure their inclusion in what’s happening around them. Additionally, the teachers can prepare the lessons that increase the learning and understanding of students by using the ICT gadgets

Land Surveying Many years ago in our cultures people didn’t have land titles knowledge, all they believed in was to have many hectares of land but not minding whether it is registered or not, but due to the upcoming technology under ICT that has boosted land surveying in my culture which made people to be aware of the value of registered land after ICTs results in surveying land for example people in my culture didn’t know that when land is titled using the ICT technology, the land becomes more valued.

Development Agriculture Sector ICT in my culture has develop agriculture in the society, for example the use to telephones where farmers can easily communicate directly to the buyers in the market, and also communicating with the agriculture specialists in case the farmers want to do some consultation on the treading farming methods, and also ICT has helped farmers do research on new herbicides and pesticides that can control diseases and pests effectively and all that can be accessed on the internet hence developing my culture from practicing traditional farming to modern farming.

Engineering ICT has brought modernization in my culture in way that it has boosted the infrastructure, some years back in our culture building a grass thatched houses was seen as development, but now since there’s ICT which has helped people in different cultures to Prepare build plans for the buildings hence ICT has boosted modernization of culture through infrastructure.

Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory

Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory is a framework for cross-cultural communication , developed by Geert Hofstede . It describes the effects of a society's culture on the values of its members, and how these values relate to behavior, using a structure derived from factor analysis . [1] Hofstede developed his original model as a result of using factor analysis to examine the results of a world-wide survey of employee values by IBM between 1967 and 1973. It has been refined since. The original theory proposed four dimensions along which cultural values could be analyzed: individualism-collectivism; uncertainty avoidance; power distance (strength of social hierarchy) and masculinity-femininity (task orientation versus person-orientation). Independent research in Hong Kong led Hofstede to add a fifth dimension, long-term orientation, to cover aspects of values not discussed in the original...

Despite subsequent editions of Theories of Development , the core text on critical modernism by Peet & Hartwick remains unchanged, and the specific notion has gained little overt traction in...
